Sessions are created and delivered by Jess Wilkinson, previous Head of Textiles at a Cheshire Secondary School. Jess has a broad range of experience working with children and young people, in both a creative and academic setting.
After identifying a need for improved well-being services in schools, Jess chose to train as a Children's Mindfulness and Yoga Teacher, accredited by the International Yoga Network. She has since used her own personal practice in yoga, art and mindfulness to develop relevant and effective programs.
Jess has a passion for inspiring both children and adults to live calmer and more mindful lives, helping them to find happiness, contentment and a connection to their intuitive self. She has an infinity with nature and outdoor learning is encouraged wherever possible in her teaching, preferring the forest as a classroom!
With stress and mental health issues being a cause for concern for many, she believes that regular Mindfulness practice can positively improve our lives and give us tools to cope with stress and difficult emotions.
Prior to teaching, Jess has a background in the fashion and creative industries, working as a window dresser and set stylist for some years.
Following completion of her MA in Design in 2009, Jess embarked on a career in teaching Art and Design to 11-18 year old's.
She is the lead teacher at The Sea Within, delivering sessions to children and young people ages 2-18, as well as parents and staff.
