About the event
Who hasn't felt better after a walk in the woods, a picnic in the park or a stroll by the sea?
Shinrin-Yoku is the Japanese word for 'forest bathing' and the Japanese have turned mindful walking in nature into a serious hobby.
Breathing, walking, feeling and seeing the forest have a huge effect on our happiness...science has proven this!
Join The Sea Within for a mindful walk in the woods, with art and photography included. We will explore the magical woods like little mindfulness fairies...noticing every beautiful detail, texture and smell.
Forget scrolling through social media for a while and find a bit of peace and quiet in your mind. Look down at your feet for small creatures or frosty leaves...feel the velvety petals of flowers. Maybe has been quite difficult returning to school after the Xmas holidays or maybe you're just feeling a bit 'meh' about life!
Perhaps this is down to friendship difficulties, family arguments, body or self image issues and academic pressures.
Mindfulness can really help with these feelings and by learning to control your breathing, meditate and see things in a different way, you can help yourself to become happier and calmer.
You will learn to focus on discovering the beauty of nature, live in the present moment and forget any stresses or worries you may have.
The session will include:
- Mindful walking
- Meditation
- Learning relaxing and mindful breathing exercises
- Intention setting
- Art making and journalling
This will be a fun and eye opening experience, leaving you feeling happier, calmer and more creative!
