About the event
Autumn is upon us and it's teaching us to embrace change in our lives, slow down and notice the magic of nature!
This workshop offers a safe and inspiring space for 11-14 year olds to discover mindfulness and to meet a like minded crew. This is a truly transitional age emotionally & physically for young people and a regular Mindfulness practice can have great benefits for their overall wellbeing.
Mindfulness may improve a young person's confidence, self awareness, sleep and help to regulate emotions. Connection to nature, our own emotions and each other is important for a happy & healthy life.
We will spend the afternoon relaxing, noticing the magic of nature with some Forest Bathing in the nearby woods and creating mindful 'art from the heart'. The session will draw to a close with a fun and nurturing yoga & mindfulness session.
The workshop will be led by Jess an experienced Children's Art, Yoga and Mindfulness practitioner. Jess is also qualified in Forest Bathing & Holistic Reflexology and works in partnership with local schools, families and cultural organisations such as The National Trust, The Whitwort Art Gallery, The Lowry & Manchester Museum.
