About the event

Join me for a peaceful & insightful Forest Bathing walk at Macclesfield Forest.

You will be guided mindfully through the forest, noticing all of your senses and taking part in nature connection activities along the way. Each activity is an invitation to explore your surroundings curiously and to rest and connect with the forest, feeling fully in the present moment.

Forest Bathing is an ancient wellness practice originating in Japan in the 1980's. The Japanese use the name 'Shinrin - Yoku', which literally means to bathe among the trees...no swimming costumes are needed though!

This walk is focused on re-connecting with your heart and your inner wisdom. Often our lives can feel busy and full, our attention & energy may become scattered in many directions. The forest will guide you to a place of peaceful cotentment, back to your heart space and the real you. Many people find that they have special experiences in the forest, discovering new parts of themselves and seeing their lives from a new perspective.

Benefits of Forest Bathing

Studies show that tree essential oils (phytoncides) boost your immune system, lower blood pressure and improve mental health - improving anxiety, sleep and regulating emotions.

Nature connection can help you to slow down your thoughts and mindfully focus on things that give you joy and pleasure.

Supports self-compassion & acceptance.

Improves creative thinking and self awareness.

Grounding and calms the nervous system 

This is a slow and restful session and while it is a walk, we will only cover a small part of the forest with plenty of opportunities to rest and relax. 

If you feel you would like to write, draw or create during the walk you are welcome to bring a notebook etc. I will provide all other materials and resources we may need. 

We will finish with a tea ceremony including light healthy snacks, please let me know if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.
