About the event
Join me for a peaceful & festive Forest Bathing walk among the trees at a beautiful woodland in Nether Alderley, Cheshire.
You will be guided peacefully through the ancient woods, engaging all of your senses and taking part in nature connection activities and meditations. Each activity is an invitation to explore your surroundings curiously and to rest and connect with the healing properties of nature.
Forest Bathing is an ancient wellness practice originating in Japan in the 1980's. The Japanese use the name 'Shinrin - Yoku', which literally means to bathe among the trees...no swimming costumes are needed though!
Originally offered as a natural remedy for stress-related symptoms and illnesses, forest bathing enhances wellness through the mindful and positive effects that a natural environment has on our health.
We are living in a fast paced society, with busy schedules and much to organise and respond to. This walk is an invitation to take time to slow down to the pace of nature, re-connect with yourself and your body. It is in our genes to feel at home in nature as it is where we are from. We often wander away from that feeling of home, but spending time connecting with nature in a meaningful way can guide us back to ourselves. Showing us to trust in our feelings and instincts, listening and believing to our inner voice - feeling happy and content with our lives.
Benefits of Forest Bathing:
- Studies show that tree essential oils (phytoncides) boost your immune system, reduce blood pressure, improve anxiety, improve sleep and improve overall health.
- Nature connection can help slow down your thoughts and mindfully focus on things that give you joy and pleasure.
- Supports self-compassion, giving you permission to deeply engage with nature and to focus on enhancing your health and wellbeing.
This is a truly beautiful practice and I'm grateful to be able to share it with you :)
